Grandpa was indeed very closely involved with the Upkeep bomb as he was responsible for the Torpex production at the Ministry of Aircraft Production. He also witnessed the only live drop and firing trial of the bouncing bomb at Reculver just before the raid in May 1943. I have also spent much time researching his past history and am very proud to be their descendantAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2588214473313179520.post-85378015627462624832021-07-01T21:18:53.455+01:002021-07-01T21:18:53.455+01:00Hello. She was Mollie Wynter-Morgan, wife of this remarkable man. My mother was her housekeeper in Woking, Surrey where they had retired and Mollie had asked if she could draw me. She told my mother that her husband helped with the creation of the Bouncing Bomb and that's all I knew. Thank you so much for this fascinating history of himAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13220411851912209668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2588214473313179520.post-75097335281947944792019-11-10T22:51:36.488+00:002019-11-10T22:51:36.488+00:00Thanks for this, have just come across the story o...Thanks for this, have just come across the story of Wilfred, and also his brother Edward who was killed in 1918, just three weeks after being awarded the DFC. They are my first cousins (3 times removed) so I will try to look into it more. Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05538638261691785249noreply@blogger.com
